Last Day! Last Day!

(You might not be able to tell – which is why I’m going to inform you ;) – but the wind is HOWLING outside. Sounds like a storm is coming in…and it was a gorgeous 60 degrees outside today! what is up with that, huh?)
Money:
(Laundry day. Our new apartment in Maryland will have a washer and dryer in the apartment. Definitely looking forward to not having to worry about whether or not I have enough quarters… ;)
Something you ate:
(hate to break it to you, but if you didn’t get some of these while they were out for Valentine’s…you missed out. These are goooooood. And yes, I finished off the bag today. What!? There were only 3 left!)
In an effort to cross off some more items on our Chicago Bucket List, we had a little adventure on Saturday to visit the Swedish American Museum. (I know, I bet you didn’t know it even existed, did you?!) John was pretty excited about it because he has a lot of Swedish ancestry. I was really excited because the Swedes gave us IKEA! ;)
Anyway, it wasn’t that big of a museum and we didn’t get too many pictures (I don’t even know if it was allowed inside the museum or not anyway…) But we had fun going into the city together and walking around Andersonville and just doing something different for a change ;)
John stared in awe of this model ship for at least 5 minutes straight… ;) It was pretty cool, and HUGE! Although we did learn that the ship this was modeled after capsized and sank on it’s maiden voyage…bummer…
We also stopped by the Swedish bakery, but it was pretty Americanized, so we were a little disappointed and didn’t get anything. We wanted ebelskivers! (I probably spelled that wrong, sorry John) Oh well, that’s one more thing off the bucket list! ;)
Night:
(Thank you picnik, for helping me make my pictures look like I know what I’m doing when I wield a camera in the dark. I don’t know what I’d do without your auto-fix button. WHY do you have to close down?!)
Green:
(Okay, so the picture didn’t come out as green as I’d like, but you get the idea ;) John and I went to the city today to visit the Swedish American museum (why, you ask? Because we can) – and downtown is already getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day!)
GAH! I missed a day!!!! I was doing so good too… I think the fact that I accidentally dropped my phone – yes the brand new one I blogged about, what, a week ago? - in the toilet (long story, but there was just water in the toilet – promise) and the fact that I feel like a complete idiot threw me off a little bit. So I missed yesterday. But I have it today! And for good measure, I already have today’s picture ready to go too.
What a day…

(We actually don’t have much in there, it’s all in the stockpile closet I showed you. But I’ve had these little jars since college. They are from IKEA. I still remember that trip with my roommates. Man, that was awesome.)

(switch over blog info…and wait a bazillion years to wait for everything to load…only to find that it doesn’t work and you could have saved so much time by simply changing admins…if only I’d known sooner…)
Drink:

Yes my friends. Today was my second annual valentine treat extravaganza with my Aunt Michelle. (We know it’s after Valentine’s but we don’t care) You remember last year, don’t you? It went something like this:
Good times, good times. And I just have to tell you, that bottom picture totally makes me laugh every time I look at it. I’m giggling a little to myself as I write this ;)
However, I must say that this year’s round of cake pops went MUCH better than last year’s. It helped that we didn’t do something quite so complicated as owls…
But as the cake pops are the main event, I have to show you what else we made first.
Peanut Butter Blossoms. YUM. Try not to be jealous mom…I’ll make you some when we move!!! 
PS After all the treat making was done, we ran over to Michaels and each got our own mustache molds – Michelle had 50% coupons ;)
And now, of course, the cake balls
We made a couple different varieties, the best of which we think were the cupcake bites (not on sticks). I should have gotten a better side view…oh well…
Then we tried to make some cupcake shaped cake pops…those were a little more difficult with the double colors…but hey, they kinda look like cupcakes, right? ;)
And finally, just some plain ol’ cake pops of the round variety. I was actually quite pleased with how they turned out for a second try ever ;) *But ignore that cracked red one in the back, okay? thanks*
I think having the pretty paper in the background helps, don’t you? ;)

Something New:
(I’m attempting to make cake pops. Again. With my aunt. Again. ;) I’ve only done it once before, so it’s still new. Promise. Should be an adventure!)
Phone:
(Whoa, was this challenge totally meant to document my life this month or what? I got this new phone today! And, fyi, I had to manually enter in all of my old contacts (long story)…so hopefully your number made it into this new gizmo…;)
Heart:

Whew! Almost didn’t make it today, just got home from the airport after a weekend outing in Maryland to look for an apartment. More on that later. I’m exhausted.
Today – inside my closet:
(This is actually my couponing/stockpiling closet – you really don’t want to see my bedroom closet right now, promise – it’s not as organized as I’d like at the moment, but it serves its purpose. And yes, I probably have 10 years worth of bathroom cleaner on the bottom shelf there…)

Whew! Almost didn’t make it today. Been up since 3:45am this morning to catch a flight to Maryland so we could go apartment hunting for the weekend. 6 apartment complexes later…well…we’re closer, but haven’t quite made a decision yet. And it’s only about 8:45pm in Chicago and we. are. beat. I’ve already had some I’m-so-tired-I’m-loopy-and-make-no-sense episodes. I’m totally going to bed as soon as I publish this. ;)
Anyway, today is self portrait:

I think this picture fully captures my dorkiness in attempting to make a cute picture of myself. And my lack of ability in working with lighting and photography. Oh well. But isn’t my new brown scarf adorable?! I have successfully replicated an outfit I love on pinterest. score.)

(Well, this just worked out perfectly! To celebrate John passing his last CPA exam, we had a delicious barbeque dinner at one of John’s favorite places, Q BBQ. nom nom nom…)

I know. If you know me at all…you’ll probably know (or guess) that I don’t really follow football. At all.
Except for BYU football. But even then…it’s shaky knowledge at best ;)
However, seeing that we’ve been invited to a Superbowl party/break the fast tonight, it is now time for me to unveil the awesome football themed cookies I made for the party.
I totally lucked out too, with both teams having red, white, and blue as their team colors!! 
AND we just found out John’s last test scores for the CPA were released today…AND HE PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are allllll DONE! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Stranger
(Can I just preface this for a minute? Do you know how HARD it is to take a picture of a stranger without looking like a total creeper?! I’m pretty sure this whole thing was designed for people with smartphones…so they can inconspicuously pretend to be playing on their phone while taking pictures of random strangers. THEY don’t look like creepers! So these were drive by pictures (I’ve created a small collage for your /amusement/enjoyment), taken while John and I were running errands…)
Whew! Glad that one is over ;)
Hands:
(on the day that my roommate and I suspected I would get engaged, my roommate insisted we get a picture of my left hand. Because, according to her, my hand would “never look the same again!” In a sense, she was right…especially after all the cuts, scrapes and burns I got in pastry school…;)
