Clear Meadow Farms Sunflower Fields 2017

Keeping up with our fall traditions, we went to see the sunflowers again last month. Sunflowers are one of my most favorite flowers, so I definitely look forward to seeing them! The farm that produces them rotates crops so this year the flowers were located at a different field, but it wasn’t too far from where we were last year and we managed to see them at peak bloom!

The boys are NOT fans for bugs, so all the bees buzzing around freaked them out a little bit, but they survived ;)IMG_3258

It was SO HOT that day, so we didn’t stay too long. We bought some sunflowers to take home with us and then went over to the local creamery to get some ice cream before heading home. I think that was the boys’ favorite part. ;)

Fall Festival at Gaver Farms 2017

I am soooo late posting these. But here we are. We made another trip to Gaver Farms this year for their fall festival. We went last year and the boys loved it, so we definitely wanted to go again. Once again John took a weekday off (it’s cheaper on a weekday and waaaay less crowded) and made a day out of it. We were there for a good 4 hours and the boys still didn’t want to go home at that point! So I think it’s safe to say they had a great day ;)

Warning: LOTS of pictures :)

Off they go!IMG_3145

This was Nathan’s most favorite thing to do the whole time. We were hard pressed to get him to go anywhere else after getting to the ‘bicycle cars’ ;)

They also really liked these rubber ducky races – you’d place the ducks in front of the pump and pump water to make them float down to the other end of the pipe. The water was nice and cold too so it felt good after walking around in the heat.

There were so many fun slide. Spencer really loved this bumpy one, but they had some huge smooth slides that went really fast too!

They also had a little hayride that we went on and got to see the pumpkin patch and the Christmas tree fields. I don’t think Nathan enjoyed it as much as he thought he would but it wasn’t super long. ;)

After about 4 hours we called it a day and headed home. We have loved coming to Gaver Farms – there is so much for the boys to do! Can’t wait to go back next year!

Spencer’s Birthday and Hershey Chocolate World

So we made plans to go to Hershey’s Chocolate World with my mom, sister, my grandparents and a couple of cousins earlier this month. It just so happened that we went on the day of Spencer’s birthday. Everyone came up the day before, so we had Spencer open his presents that day since everyone was there to celebrate.

Big brother was more than happy to help with the present opening ;)IMG_3005

He’s screaming “Mack!!!” in this picture, he got a Cars 3 duplo set that came with Mack the Truck :)

Along with some Little People sets and that really awesome stuffed Lightning McQueen, I’d say he got a pretty good haul this year ;)

The next day we drove up to Hershey, PA to go to Hershey’s Chocolate world. It’s about 2 hours away so we left first thing in the morning for our first scheduled activity: Custom Chocolate Bar Making!

Spencer did NOT want to wear the required hairnet ;)

We also watched the 4D film – which was a little weird, but the kids enjoyed it…mostly. Nathan got a little scared at the beginning, but was okay for the rest of it.

We stopped for lunch at the Soda Shop diner before the rest of our activities for the day.IMG_6512

After lunch was our trolley ride. The boys really liked the ride, and the free chocolate they kept giving out ;)IMG_6532

Our last event was the chocolate tasting experience. Spencer was pretty much done by that point. He hadn’t gotten a nap and was having a hard time by the end of the day, but we made it through the last of the day.

Once we finished the chocolate tasting, we made the drive back home. We had such a great time at Hershey!
