The Honeymoon!!!!

Whew!!! It's been a whirlwind of activity since we've been married! Today has probably been the first day we've been able to relax a little and even then we were running around all morning! But it's been great! We are finally all settled into our new apartment and it's been fun to see it slowly turn into our home :) But before I get to all that, I must tell you about the honeymoon!!!

After we drove off in our stylish limo after the reception, we stayed in Salt Lake for a night and then flew down to sunny San Diego to play!!! We kind of bummed around on Sunday, as we didn't have a car (my parents were driving it down for us with all of our stuff in it) but it was nice and relaxing after the plane trip. Monday and Tuesday we actually had to check into our apartment and get our stuff moved in there. Thankfully my parents were there to help us get that all unloaded. Tuesday we started putting together some furniture so that our place would be functional when we got back from the open house we were having in Agoura at John's parent's place.

Wednesday and Thursday we spent at DISNEYLAND and CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!!! It was so much fun! My family and our friends the Skankeys were there as well so we met up with them for a little bit to go on some rides together. (and I don't particularly like roller coasters, so John had someone to ride with, and I had someone to wait with!) But most of the time we were off on our down, doing our 'thang. :) We had so much fun! When we got there, someone gave us pins that said "Just Married" and put our names on them so whenever we got on a ride, the ride workers would congratulate us. It was pretty cool. We also got these awesome Ear Hats for brides and grooms. We wore them most of the day on Wednesday ;)

C is for....California!

With some of the gang

Oh we are so cute :)

Lookin' stylish in our new ears

Officially, "Mrs. Moffat"! :)

I tried soooo hard to free the sword! Guess I'm not meant to be king...

And neither is John, apparently...bummer...

And we lived Happily Ever After :)

Friday we headed up to Agoura to John's parents' for the open house. It was so fun to meet John's friends and family there! And we had yummy food and John's mom did a fabulous job with the house and backyard, it was beautiful. And thankfully, this was a little more informal than the reception, so John and I had a chance to sit down after a while and have some of that yummy food ;)

The entry way

Here we are opening fun presents

People!! and Jason in the corner there...lovely :)
Saturday we headed back down to San Diego to our new apartment! We spent the rest of the weekend unpacking and getting settled. We went to our new ward on Sunday and met lots of nice people. Monday and Tuesday was still full of unpacking boxes and taking care of things. Then I left Wednesday to go to Chicago for a day to visit the pastry school I plan on attending. It was SOOOOO cool! I met up with my parents there so they could come tour the school with me. It was so fun to ride the train into downtown and see the school. The stuff they learn there is amazing! I can't wait to learn it too! Friday I flew back to my sweet boy who had to stay at home alone (though thankfully Travis came down for a little bit). My mom came down with me because she was coming with us to see the musical Wicked with Tish for Tish's birthday. It was our first time seeing it and it was AMAZING! I loved it! My mom left yesterday and we have finally had a chance to breathe after all of our excitement and adventure. But the biggest adventure is yet to begin!! John starts his classes tomorrow and I have to start looking for a job and finishing up my last BYU class online! So of course, we remain busy busy busy but loving every minute :)

We are MARRIED!!!

Hurray!!! we finally made it through the last couple of weeks!!! And now we've been married a week and TWO days!!! We're quite proud of ourselves. and blissfully happy :)

It has been an insane last couple of weeks. the week of the wedding was probably the craziest.
Let me give you the brief run down (trust me, this IS brief) :

Monday:
Last day of classes and work for summer term, I had a final and a quiz. I also had to start packing to get ready for my checkout at my apartment.

Tuesday:
Reading day. No school or work, (that was a relief) but studied my brains out for my two finals on Wednesday. Had a dentist appointment. Tried to get more cleaning done.

Wednesday: Last two finals for the summer. Passed finals! WOOT! (we were worried about my Music 201 class!! eek!) Elizabeth my maid of honor and both mine and John's families arrived tonight. had a big dinner with everyone. Finished cleaning and packing ALL MY STUFF (i have a TON) for checkouts.

Thursday: John and I checked out of our apartments. Passed cleaning checks. Was kind of annoyed after all my hard work cleaning, the girl kind of ran her fingers along the surfaces and proclaimed it good. Started baking wedding cake. Got all three layers baked. Baptisms at Draper Temple with family. It was Cameron's first time!!! That was really special. :) After temple, ran errands, got nails done, got to bed VERY late.

Getting ready to do baptisms!

Friday: Went through the temple for the first time!!! Completely overwhelmed with information overload. Grabbed some lunch and hurried back to start frosting the cake! Got the first 2 layers frosted and had to get over to the park for the big family dinner. Enter John AND Ashley's extended family. That was a lot of people! and LOTS of yummy food....oh yum... :) Went back and finished frosting last layer of cake. Crashed in bed.
With my parents right after the session

With my sweetheart after the session
Trying not to fall asleep at the family dinner ;)

Saturday: Woke up at 5am and couldn't sleep. surprising? no. Got my hair done at my old roommates and went back to finish getting ready. My mom and I met up with John and his dad to head up to the temple. CRAZY busy that day!!! 33 other sealings going on and the lobby was packed with people! But everyone was really nice and we were well taken care of. :) We got sealed and saw so many of our friends and loved ones to share this special time with us. We also were lucky to have a good friend of the Moffats to be our sealer. It was pretty special.

But the day wasn't over yet!! After the sealing and much confusion as to where my groom went after we had changed into our wedding/picture clothes, there were a couple hours of pictures, some lunch, then over to the church building to get ready for the reception! And I still had to finish the cake. Finished the cake, helped set things up. Got five minutes for dinner and then my mom's family showed up so that my cousin Logan could be ordained a deacon. Then we rushed out to the reception area to start greeting people. Stood in very tall shoes for way too long. Those came off after an hour. lucky for me you couldn't tell with all of my skirts. Face hurt from smiling so much!! After about an hour and a half of the reception line, we cut the cake, changed, and made our grand exit amid bubbles and cheers into a sweet white limo. And we drove off to our happily ever after. :)

I'll give an update later on the honeymoon. Tune in next time for Disneyland! California Adventure!! The Open House! and our NEW apartment!!!!!

ONE WEEK!

We have a WEEK left!! We get married this Saturday!! Hurray!!!! We are just SO excited! Out families come in tomorrow and I'll be done with finals by early afternoon. I'm really ready to be done with school! Today is a readying day, or prep day before finals start. I really hate reading days. I just want to go take my tests!!!!! Oh well, once the families get in, it's going to be non-stop craziness :) So I better enjoy the calm before the storm. ;) But we are soooooooo excited!! We went to the county clerks office and got our marriage license this afternoon. It's hard to believe it's all actually happening! We've been waiting 4 months for this and it's kind of surreal that it's all of our waiting is coming to an end...

Yay for Birthdays!!

It's my turn to have a birthday! I turned 20 on August 3rd, and it is quite exciting to be out of the teens ;) And I had lots of surprises!!

the first one was when I came out of my room that morning to get ready for the day and there was this big birthday message for me on the door!!

Then when John came to pick me up, i got a big balloon and a bag of sour skittles!! YUM. :)

Unfortunately, John had to work, and for once, i had the afternoon free! John has been helping test a new product for Provo Craft in Spanish Fork. Oh well, i got to finally clean my room and now it's nice and tidy.

After John came back from work, I got some more surprises!! My favorite kids book, Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late, and some pretty earrings from the Farmer's Market!! John's parents got me a gift card from IKEA!! I am *most* excited! :)

Then we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Outback Steakhouse, and had yummy cheesy fries and STEAK.

So all in all, it was a good birthday :)

Stewart Falls and Five-Sevenths

Last weekend for the 24th of July - (Pioneer day, for the Non-Utahns) John's brother Travis came through on his way back home from BYU-Idaho. So we went and hiked Stewart Falls:

It was really pretty peaceful up there and we had fun going down to the bottom and getting really close to the water. Travis even crossed the river at the bottom to the other side.

This weekend we had planned on hiking Timpanogos cave, but when we checked on tickets for the tour, there weren't any left! We were sad! But we read in the BYU newspaper an article on the "Seven Wonders of Provo" (Kind of tacky, I know) so we decided to go around and take a look at what Provo had to offer. ;)

The first one was the totem pole outside the University's Museum of Peoples and Cultures. Neither of us knew it was there! (we tried to make faces to fit in with the totem ha

The next was the obelisk memorial to the US Veterans:

The fourth was a historic tree on center street. It was planted in 1927 and there are supports all underneath the branches to help it stay up. It was really cool!

The fifth was the stone amphitheater that is further down center street. According to some people, everyone and their dog gets their engagements and bridals done there. I'm glad we didn't go along with the trend, even though it is a really pretty place to have pictures :)

The sixth was the cougar outside Lavell Edwards Stadium. I'd never been to see the cougar, we became quick friends...and my noble steed ;)

He and John shared a friendly handshake :)

So that was our adventure. As you might have noticed, that was only 5 of the 7 wonders. The other two are the King Kong Cone (a GINORMOUS ice cream cone) and the Limeade from some random place whose name escapes me. ;) But since we'd just had a big dinner, we didn't want anymore food!! But we had fun with these five :)
