19 Months!

Here we are again! Not too many pictures this month, I’ll try to be better next time…

*Has gotten really affectionate. Not only will he actually hug me back when I spontaneously try to hug him, but he gives (really wet) kisses!! It’s basically the cutest thing ever. Doesn’t really pucker up, but gets reeeeaaallly close to my face and then gives me a little peck on the lips. I make the ‘mwah’ sound and then he’s off to whatever he was doing before. ;)

*Got his first ever stomach bug this last weekend. It about made me cry to see him so miserable. He’s doing much better now, and I can now say I’ve passed through yet one more motherhood rite of passage: I’ve caught vomit with my hands. So much different than spit up, let me tell ya. (I know, you really wanted to know that, right?) ;)

*Loves loves LOVES being in the kitchen with me when I’m cooking. We have a step stool that he can stand on so that he can play with bowls and spoons at the counter and it’s one of his favorite activities. He also really loves playing in play kitchens – which makes me soooo excited!

*Not a huge fan of nursery, to be honest. That first week he was golden, but that was because he didn’t know I was leaving. The next week he plopped down on my lap as soon as we got in there, like “you’re not going anywhere, so don’t even think about it”. I was able to sneak out after a little bit, but after I had to change his diaper, he lost it when I took him back, screaming and crying. So I just hung out with him there. I don’t mind.

*Really liking animals these days. We went to my parent’s for Thanksgiving and they have 2 dogs and Nathan had to pet them every day we were there. He also now knows the baby sign for dog and even makes a little ‘woof, woof’ sound when we ask him “what does a dog say?”,

*Can also make a moo-ing sound and a baa-ing sound when we ask him about cows and sheep. It’s pretty hilarious, actually, considering he’s never seen a real cow or a sheep in his life.

*He’s gotten super picky these days. I’m totally bummed out about it. He used to be really good about at least trying something new before decided he liked it or not, but now he doesn’t even try new things except under completely random circumstances. He also rarely sits in his booster seat to eat anymore and I’ve decided to pick my battles and focus more on making sure he’s actually eating than making sure he sits in his seat. Oof. Crazy kid.

*So very busy and keeps us on our toes! Love you Little Man!
