Another Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

Oh, and Uncle JoMo too ;)

After the weekend of the baby blessing, John’s parents and Joseph went to Scotland for 2 weeks! (All the kids in the family get a trip to the destination of their choice upon graduating from high school. Joseph chose Scotland. Way cool) This past weekend we got to see them one more time before they headed back to California.

While they were pretty tired from the flight across the Atlantic and the jetlag, they were still up for an outing to Fort McHenry in Baltimore. We picked a great day to go. It was a little hot, but with the 4th of July coming up this week, they had some very fun patriotic things going on at the fort. We watched a fife and drum corps performance and a flag raising. It was really cool!

Grandma was so nice to give me and Nathan shade while we were waiting for the cannon. Nathan barely stirred, by the way. I covered his ears when they shot the cannon, but it was still pretty loud. Champion sleeper, this one. Mostly.

Afterwards we went home and hung out, the heat having taken most of our energy. Nathan finally woke up on the way home and demanded that he be fed. That night we went out to dinner to celebrate John’s birthday (Which is tomorrow! yay!)!

Sunday was church as usual. After waffles we went for a walk over at the Old Grist Mill trail.

It was another hot and sticky day, but it was a really pretty walk. We made it back just in time – it started down pouring rain when we got home!

So glad we could see Grandma and Grandpa one more time before they headed back home! We will miss them!
