Big Truck Day in Baltimore

We got to have some fun today in Baltimore at Big Truck Day! It was held in the parking lot of the Museum of Industry, where kids could climb into fire engines, police cars, work trucks and construction vehicles! It was put on by the museum and the Baltimore City of Public Works. Having a truck-loving 3 year old, I knew this would be a very fun outing for us, so we made plans to head into the city today. It was cold and rainy, but the event was still on, so off we went! It think the poor weather kept it from getting too busy, so that was a plus. We successfully found a parking spot (which was my biggest stress after our fiasco in DC with the cherry blossoms) and walked over to the museum. We also got to meet up with some friends there, so that was really fun too.

When we first got there, Nathan was a little overwhelmed by all the people, sirens and horns, but once he got warmed up to the idea, he loved seeing all the trucks!

I think John was just as excited ;)

Spencer was such a trooper to hang out in the stroller, despite the cold and wind.

The kids could totally go into the trucks and play around with the steering wheel, horn and in the case of the police car, the PA speakers. It was hilarious to hear some kid talking about bad guys on 6th street from one of the police cars. Nathan loved sitting in this tow truck.

They also had some activities underneath the pavilion, where all the kids got a free plastic hard hat (like the ones we had a Nathan's birthday party) and a construction worker vest. There was face painting, balloon animals, blocks for building and a few other activities. It was really well put together.

When we were about done with the trucks, we fed the boys a quick lunch on the dock by the boats and then headed home before it got too close to naptime. Overall, a successful outing!
